Building description
From: Bucks Herald 7 July 1883, p. 8
The New Post Office. On Tuesday last, the postal business of Tring was transferred to the new premises. The Office, a spacious room, fifty-five feet in length, thirty-feet in breath [sic], and of proportionate height, contains fittings of the most approved construction as regards utility, providing accommodation for the Parcels Post, and for the eleven town and rural letter carriers at present employed, whilst the ample space apportioned to the telegraph instruments is in striking contrast to the crowded state of the telegraph branch in the old office. The building is in the domestic Gothic style of the 16th century, sufficiently modified to furnish the light and ventilation specially required in post office. The architect, Mr. W. Huckvale, and the builders, Messrs. James Honour and Son, may be congratulated on the result of their efforts.
