The new Post-office on the Market-hill was opened for business on Monday. The handsome premises stand in commanding position. The height of the building is 28ft., and the length 86ft. It is faced with red bricks, with ornamental Broseley tilings; and clock denotes Greenwich time, a large compartment is devoted to parcels. Mr. F. W. Jennings was the contractor, the internal decoration being entrusted to Mr. Josiah Williams. Mr. J. F. Hills is postmaster, Mr. B. W. Hills and Miss A. Hills assistants, and Mr. Hopkins, telegraph clerk.
