Building description
From: Northampton Mercury 24 Jul 1903, p. 5
The post office at Oundle was opened to the public on Monday. The building is conveniently placed and very admirably fitted. On the ground floor there is the public office, behind which is a splendid long room for dealing with the dispatch of mails. The fittings are of the newest type, and the arrangements are most convenient. There is a retiring room for the postmen, also accommodation for the telegraph boys. On the first floor are several rooms for different purposes, including provision for the telephone. On the top floor are several more useful rooms. The whole building is a model of convenience, and it is doubtful, for the size of the town, if a finer office could be found. The contractors were Messrs. Siddons and Freeman.
