The hall and public office, located at the eastern part of the structure is a spacious apartment with all the latest conveniences for facilitating business. Adjoining the public office is the telegraphic room, while to the rear is the sorting room, one of the most airy and commodious apartments in the building. On the ground floor are also the postmaster's room, rooms for the postmen, lady clerks, and telegraph boys, well as an apartment for cycles and a general store ... The architect for the building was Mr Wm, Buchanan, Greenock. |
